Overview
NPI "My Agency" groups are used to maintain a list of your company's agencies in the Marketscape platform so that some metrics and features reflect your company to your users. When your agencies' NPIs are added to a "My Agency" group, your users will see metrics specific to the agency for which they work.
If your company has access to Marketscape Insights and Marketscape CRM, you will need to set up your company NPIs in each product. Instructions on how to do both are included below.

Marketscape Insights
Background
The "My Agency" toggle appears in many tables, including the Explore Page and Market Share Reports in Marketscape Insights. The toggle allows you to filter the table to show only your agencies in the table. Also, your agencies are presented in bold text throughout Marketscape Insights. The images below show some examples:
The highlighting of your agencies, in particular, make it easy to find what matters most wherever it appears.
Getting Oriented
When you click on the "NPI Groups" button in the Admin tools left navigation, you will see the following:
Click on the "NPI Groups" button to navigate to the NPI Groups page.
The "Group Type" filter has no purpose. Don't use it.
Click the "Import NPI Group" button if you have a spreadsheet of NPIs you want to add to a new or existing NPI group.
If you want to create an NPI group to be filled with just a few NPIs, or you want to add NPIs later, you can choose "Add NPI Group" and create a new NPI group. The interface for adding a group is similar to the import interface which is visible in the example below.
Click on the "Excel" button to export the list of NPI groups in the table to a spreadsheet.
The pencil
is a button that will open the listed NPI group so you can add or remove NPIs from that group. See Adding/editing NPI Groups below for instructions.
The table includes any existing NPI groups. Notice that the Trella Training company has a "My Agency" NPI group for "Home Health Agencies" and "My SNFs." We will create an NPI group for our hospices below.
You can only have one enabled NPI group for each line of business for which you have contracted access. It is possible to have disabled NPI groups, but there isn't a practical reason to have a disabled NPI group. If you have questions, talk to your Customer Success Manager or Trella Health Support.
Setting up "My Agency" NPI Groups
Collect your NPIs
You can add NPIs to an existing group, or you can create a new group and add NPIs. Either way, before you do anything on this page it makes sense to create a list of NPIs. The best practice is to use a spreadsheet with all NPIs in a single column.
You can only create or add NPIs of the same provider type at a time. Don't mix skilled nursing facilities with home health agencies or hospices. Each provider type needs it's own list.
For our example, here is our NPI list. We do not need a column header, just a list of NPIs. We saved the spreadsheet as HospiceNPIs.xlsx. We have selected three hospices for this import.
Initial Setup
If this is your initial setup with Marketscape Insights, the best way to add your NPIs will be to use the "Import NPI Group" option. Have your spreadsheet ready.
When you click the "Import NPI Group" button, you will be prompted:
In this example, since we are creating a new group, we will select "Import into New NPI Group."
Then click "Continue."
You will then see the image in the right column of the following table. Instructions for filling out each field is in the left column.
Before you choose a Group Type, you will notice a lot of other options. They don't do anything and will disappear when you choose "My Agency."
After you save, you will see the following:
Click "Import" to import your spreadsheet.
You will receive the following confirmation.
Click "Close"
If there are any errors in the spreadsheet, you will be prompted to fix the errors. Look for spaces before or after the NPI in each cell.
Adding/editing NPI Groups
As you can see from the following image, there are now three NPI groups in my NPI Group table. The NPI Group of the hospices imported above is at the bottom.
There are two ways to add additional NPIs.
Option one - Another Spreadsheet
We could create another spreadsheet and upload it.
Click "Import NPI Group"
But this time, click on "Import into Existing NPI Group
Choose the group into which you want to import the additional NPIs
Choose your file and navigate to it. Then click the "Upload File" button.
The additional NPIs will be added to the selected list.
Option Two - Copy and paste
A couple notes
- You can't add the wrong provider type to an existing NPI Group.
- If you tried to add a home health agency into an NPI Group for hospices using the spreadsheet import, the NPI will not upload.
- If you use the "Edit NPI Group" interface, adding the NPI to the search will not show a result if the provider type does not match.

Collect your NPIs
Before you add NPIs to Marketscape CRM, it will help you to collect the necessary NPIs into a spreadsheet or even notepad. To add the NPIs, you will need to have a comma separated list that you can copy and paste.
Adding/Editing NPIs to your Account
Observe the following image and follow the directions below.
Click on "Settings" at the top right of the page.
Click on "System Setup" in the left menu, "Settings Links & Tools. When you open the "System Setup" page, any NPIs that have already been saved to your Account will appear. You can delete what you see, or add additional NPIs.
Paste your list of comma separated NPIs into the field named, "Account NPIs"
If you keep a running list of company NPIs, for example, in another database, you can delete any visible NPIs and paste a complete "new" list into the Account NPIs field.
Click on the "Save Account NPIs" button.
