Overview
Comparison lists allow you to create groups of providers that you can save for later use. Some locations where you can use these groups are listed below after we show how to create a list.
Some Details
- You can make a custom lists for every provider type in all lines of business in Marketscape Insights.
- Custom lists only include providers of the same type. For example, you can't create a list of physicians and hospitals.
- Although the images below were taken from Marketscape Insights for Home Health, the steps in the process of creating a custom list are identical for all provider types in all lines of business.
- If you have already created a custom list, the process below will also allow you to remove providers from an existing list.
How to Create a Custom List
Step One: Select your providers
On the agency Explore page, click on the checkboxes next to the agencies you want to add to the list.
Step Two: Open Add to Comparison List
Click on the comparison icon
This will open the following dialog box:
Step Three: Create or select a comparison List
Click on the field beneath Comparison List
When the selection opens, click on Create New List... to make a new list. You will then be able to
If you have an existing comparison list, it will appear in this list and you can select it to add your selected providers to that list.
When you select an existing list, you will be able to either add the selected providers to the list or remove them from the list.
Step Four: Name your new comparison list
Fill in the fields with a name you want and a description. For this example, we have created a comparison list for agencies in Montgomery county, PA.
Try to use a naming convention that makes it easy to understand which providers are included to make it easier to identify when you see the list in other places in Marketscape Insights.
When you have filled in the fields, click Save.
Step Five: Choose what to add
Now you choose what to add. There are two options
Use Selected NPIs - This will add the providers you selected at the beginning.
Select Top X NPIs - allows you to choose to add the top X number of entries listed in the table.
The second option would be used if you had filtered and sorted the table so the best choices for your group are at the top of the table.
Finally, click Add.
Your list is created.
Removing Providers
If you have selected providers that you want to remove from a list, you will first select the list and then click the "Remove" button.
Where to use your list
Once you have created your list, you can use it in the following ways.
Home Page
In My Lists you can open your comparison list to view your list of providers.
Explore Page
In the filters, you can choose your new list in the "Custom Lists" filter. This will limit the entries in the Explore page table to the providers in your list.
Your list of providers
By making a custom list of providers and filtering to your list on the Explore page, you can use the extensive metric on the Explore page to make a detailed comparison between specific providers of interest.
- A list of specific physicians from a chosen city with a patient counts or chronic conditions that match specific parameters
- The group of hospitals from which your organization receives the highest (or lowest) number of referrals.
- Your agency and the top competitors so you can compare performance metrics.
Engage Page/Presentations
When you have created a presentation, you can choose which providers are shown in the Presentation by clicking on the "Select Comparison" button.
Your list will appear in the left window. Click on the name of your custom list, and the providers in the list will be available in the right window to add to the presentation.
