Overview

The content of this article is focused on the Physicians Explore page filters in Marketscape Insights for Home Health. In this article we will provide suggested filter sets that are the most relevant for the chosen Explore page. You can think of these filter "recipes" as best practices for finding the most relevant data on the page. If you want to create your own recipes, the second part of the article provides useful details about each available filter on the page.

Available Filters

Filter Recipes

As mentioned in the Overview and Strategy article, there are many, many possible combinations of filter settings, and what you choose depends on what results you want in the table. In this section, we are going to propose an objective along with filter settings that will give you those results in the Explore page table.

If you are not using an already established default location, your first step for each recipe will always be to set up the location filter. For basic setup instructions, see The Location Filter.

Recipe 1 - Objective: Find high referral potential physicians

Confirm the location filter settings for your region of interest
Set the following range filters
- HHA Patients: Followed - very low - 5 or less is shown
- HHA Affiliation % - 40% or less
- HHA Patients: Last Claimed - 50 or more patients

Click on the "Apply Filters" button

There are numerous combinations of filters that are similar. For example, physicians with a high count of HHA Patients: 3 Months Prior counts are another indicator of high referral potential.

Recipe 2 - Objective: Find Primary Care Physicians

Confirm the location filter settings for your region of interest
Set the "Specialty" filter to include the following three specialties
- Internal Medicine
- General Practice
- Family Medicine

Set the "Place of Service" filter to "Office" with the range filter set to >100 patients

Click on the "Apply Filters" button

Once you have created a filter set, if you like the results, add the "Assigned User" filter with "Unassigned" selected. You can then select entries and assign them to your users more quickly.

The Location Filter

The location filter allows you to select the region for which you want to display results in the table.

You can select as many states as you want by checking the check box to the left the state's abbreviation. When you add a state, counties from that state are then available in the County column.
Select as many counties as you want. As you add counties, the Cities column will populate with cities in those counties
If you choose cities, the ZIP codes for those cities will be displayed.

Selected Locations - the list of locations that you select will be displayed at the top of the dialog box.

Default Location - Once you choose your region, click on the "Save as My Default Location" button to save your selection as your default location. This default location will be used automatically on all Explore pages unless you turn it off or change it.

Location Search - If you enter the name of a county or city, or the numbers in a ZIP code, matching locations will appear from which you can select the correct match. (See image.)

As shown, you can enter a partial word in the search and the selection will be displayed.

Locations Interface - Add the states, counties, cities, and ZIP codes by clicking on the checkbox to the left of each item.

Specialty - This filter will limit the entries in the table to physicians who match the specialty or specialties you choose. Use the search field to find specialties and subspecialties quickly Click on the checkbox to the left of the specialty name to add it to the filter You can choose more than one specialty or sub-specialty If the specialty you choose has sub-specialties, they will appear to the right and you can choose sub-specialties to be very specific with your choices.

Hospital Affiliation - If you are looking for physicians who are affiliated with a specific hospital, (or hospitals) you can choose one or more hospitals to limit the entries in the table to those physicians. Use the top field to search for a hospital by name or NPI Select the hospital by clicking on the checkbox to the left of the hospital's name. The range filter at the bottom allows you limit the percentage of affiliation the physician has with the selected hospital(s). - All hospitals are displayed. If you choose one that does not align with your chosen location filters, the table will display no results.
Chronic Condition - Find physicians who have treated a chosen minimum number of patients for a chosen chronic condition. You can only choose one chronic condition at a time. The top field can be used to search for a specific chronic condition Select the chronic condition by clicking on the checkbox to the left of the condition's name. Use the slider or type in the box to change the minimum number of patients with the chosen diagnosis treated by the physician to be displayed
Medical Group (Billing NPI) - Limit the table to physicians who submit claims through a specific medical group. The top field can be used to search for a specific medical group Select the medical group by clicking on the checkbox to the left of the name
ACO - Find the physicians connected to a specific ACO or multiple ACOs. The top field can be used to search for a specific ACO Select the ACO by clicking on the checkbox to the left of the ACO's name The "All" box at the top allows you to select or deselect all ACOs.
Assigned Users - Use this filter to display only physicians who are assigned to a user or users in your company. The field at the top can be used to search for a specific user Click on the checkbox to the left of the user's name to add the user to the filter You can select more than one user Assigned - Select this option to show all physicians who are assigned to users Unassigned - Select this option to show all physicians who are not assigned
MA Plan - Use this filter to find physicians who treated patients enrolled in the MA plans that you select. The field at the top can be used to search for a specific MA plan by name Click on the checkbox to the left of the plan's name to add the plan to the filter You can select more than one MA plan of interest
(Target) Priority - If physicians have been tagged as targets and those targeted physicians have been assigned a priority level, you can use this filter to limit the entries in the table to physicians with the matching priority level. You can select more than one priority level at a time
Target Type - If physicians have been tagged as targets and those targeted physicians have been assigned a target type, you can use this filter to limit the entries in the table to physicians with the matching target type. You can select more than one target type for this filter
Place of Service - Use this filter to find physicians who treated a selected minimum number of patients in a specific place of service. Click on the checkbox to the left of the place of service. You can only select one place of service at a time Minimum patients - type in the box or use the slider to set the minimum number of patients treated by a physician at the selected place of service
Trella Diagnostic Group - Use this filter to find physicians who treated a selected minimum number of patients with diagnoses that align with the selected Trella Health Diagnostic Group. Click on the checkbox to the left of the diagnostic group to add it to the filter. You can only select one diagnostic group at a time Minimum Patient Count - type in the box or use the slider to set the minimum number of patients treated by a physician with a diagnoses in the selected diagnostic group Although the slider has the name "Trella Diagnostic Group," think of the number as the "Minimum Patient Count" for the selected diagnostic group.
Home Health (agencies) - With this filter you can look for physicians who treated patients who were admitted to the selected home health agency or agencies. Use the field at the top to search for a specific home health agency by name or NPI Click on the checkbox to the left of the home health agency name to add it to the filter. You can select one home health agency or multiple home health agencies Click the checkbox to the left of "All" to select or deselect all home health agencies
Risk Category - Use this filter to find physicians who are rated with a specific risk category rating. Click the checkbox to the left of the risk category rank. You can select more than one risk category
Custom Lists - If you have created custom lists, you can use this filter to display the physicians in a selected list in the Explore table. Click on the checkbox to the left of the list name to add it to the filter You can choose more than one list
