Overview
Assign Anywhere is a feature that works automatically behind the scenes to maintain consistency between Marketscape Insights and Marketscape CRM. More specifically, it is a two-way connection between the two products which does the following:
- Marketscape Insights to Marketscape CRM - In Marketscape Insights, when you assign a physician/facility to a member of your team, the same physician/facility will be added as an "owned" contact or account for that team member in Marketscape CRM.
- Marketscape CRM to Marketscape Insights - In Marketscape CRM, when you make a team member an owner of a physician contact or a facility account the same physician/facility is assigned to that person in Marketscape Insights.
Seriously, that is all you need to know. The rest of this article includes details, examples, and troubleshooting. The process is automatic and invisible. Truly simple!
The products work identically for facilities as for physicians. Because of this, we will only show the details of Assign Anywhere functionality for physicians. In all of the images below that relate to physicians and contacts, the parallel tables for facilities and accounts look and function the same way.
In an odd twist of the English language, we can say, "assign that physician to my rep" or "assign my rep to that physician," and both sentences mean the same thing functionally in Marketscape. In the documentation throughout all of the Trella Health Help Centers, we kinda use this language interchangeably based on the starting point.

Some terms to understand. Some terms are different between Marketscape Insights and Marketscape CRM, but what you read and see will always make sense in the context. For example:
- In Marketscape Insights, we are looking at people by their provider type, and categorize them as "Physicians." When you assign a physician to a user, that physician becomes a "Contact" for that user in Marketscape CRM. The same goes for facilities in Marketscape Insights and accounts in Marketscape CRM.
- Going the other way, in Marketscape CRM the process is making a user an "owner" of a contact or account, or managing ownership. If you make a user an owner of a contact or account in Marketscape CRM, they will be visible in Marketscape Insights as assigned to a listed user.
Examples
In this section we are going to show you four examples of how Assign Anywhere works. Two examples show how assigned Physicians in Marketscape Insights become owned Contacts in Marketscape CRM. Two examples go the other way and show how ownership of Contacts in Marketscape CRM become assigned physicians in Marketscape Insights.

The examples below are taken from Marketscape Insights for Home Health. The steps shown are identical in Hospice and Skilled Nursing, and, as mentioned, facilities assignment follows the same steps.

Requirements/Troubleshooting
There are a couple of tiers here.
- Some settings can only be fixed by a Trella Health employee. They are aligned when your company is set up with both products.
- Some settings are done or can be done by your account administrator. Those settings are described next.
Settings an Account Administrator controls
There are two important settings that an account administrator at your company can confirm to assure that Assign Anywhere will work or to fix Assign Anywhere for a specific user.
If Assign Anywhere is not working for a specific user, confirming the two items listed below is the first step to troubleshooting the issue.
User Email Addresses must match in both products
Every connection between Marketscape Insights and Marketscape CRM for any user depends on emails being the same in both products. An account admin can confirm that the emails match by doing the following:
Account Administrator perspective - The user's email address is essentially their username in their login credentials. If the email addresses do not match, functionally you have two different accounts.
Market Spotlight needs to be turned on
This is a somewhat obscure setting and should be set up during integration. However, if new Roles have been created without Market Spotlight on, or if someone inadvertently turns off Market Spotlight, Assign Anywhere won't work... anywhere.
Since our troubleshooting scenario includes a user for whom Assign Anywhere isn't working, our first step is to find out which role the user has. Click on the "Settings" button in the left navigation, and then click on the "Users" link under Territory Management.
This will open up the Manage Users page.
You will then be able to see all of the users in your company. Since Claudia is the one for whom Assign Anywhere isn't working, take note of her role - Office Manager.
Since you haven't really left the Settings page, click on the "Role Management" link.
This will show you the Roles used by your company. Click on the "Edit" link to the left of "Office Manager."
This will open the Role Management page.
There are a LOT of settings on this page. Think of it as a room of toothpick sculptures - really easy to break stuff. If you aren't super duper sure, call your customer success manager or Trella Support.
We are looking for the box at the bottom. If none of these checkboxes are checked, we suggest the following steps:
- Turn on the three check boxes indicated. This should get Assign Anywhere working for Claudia.
- Call your Customer Success Manager to confirm the settings.
Final Troubleshooting step
If the above two steps don't fix the problem, make contact with your customer success manager or send an email to Support@TrellaHealth.com
Details
What happens when you do certain actions:
Action | Outcome in Marketscape CRM | Outcome in Marketscape Insights |
You assign a physician/facility to a user in Marketscape Insights |
A new contact for a physician or an account for a facility is created with the user as an owner. If the physician/facility is already a(n) contact/account the user will be added as an owner. |
|
User is made an owner of a contact or account in Marketscape CRM | The user is assigned that physician or facility in all three lines of business. | |
A user's ownership is removed from a physician or facility in Marketscape CRM | The physician or facility is unassigned from all lines of business. |
Since Assign Anywhere assigns a user to a physician/facility in Marketscape Insights to all three lines of business, if you remove the assignment from a user in only one line of business in Marketscape Insights, that will not remove ownership in Marketscape CRM. In order to remove ownership automatically from Marketscape CRM, you would need to un-assign a user from all three lines of business in Marketscape CRM.
