This table includes some summary performance metrics for the hospice on the detail page with some metrics for state and county comparison.
Understanding the Metrics
The first column identifies the metric in each row. The second column contains the metric for the hospice on the detail page. The county and state comparisons are in the final two columns where available.
Throughout the rest of the Solution, this metric is called % Hospitalized: 30 Days. This metric can be found in the Hospice Summary table above on the same page, in the right-most column.
This percentage is the hospice's two year overall rate of hospitalization (where this Hospice's patients were admitted to a short-term acute stay during an ongoing hospice election period OR within 30 days of hospice discharge.)
|ALOS||This metric is also included in the Hospice Summary table. This metric is the mean average length of stay for all patients discharged from Hospice during the standard one year reporting period (does not include patients still in Hospice).|
|% of deaths||This is the percent of patients treated by the hospice on this page during the one year reporting period who died during the same year.|
|Average Patient Age||This metric is the average age of all patients treated by the hospice on this page.|
