In order to maintain the connection between known physicians and other staff to a specific hospice, the Key Staff Table includes possible Hospice Medical directors and the ability to add other physicians or staff.
Medical Director (DIR)
Trella Health looks for the physician who attended the most patients at the hospice to identify potential Medical directors for the hospice on each detail page. These physicians will be included in the Key Staff table with the designation (DIR). The (DIR) designation will appear with the physician name in any table the physician populates. Adding medical directors for a hospice allows you to quickly scan past them when searching for target physicians.

Adding Key Staff
Additional staff can be added to the Key Staff Table by clicking on the plus sign (+) next to the title.
Adding someone not in the Database
The following window will open when you click on the plus:
We have added a fictitious test example to show how the data would look as you enter it.
The only field that is required is the name.
The title field is visible in the table and allows you to add staff other than physicians.
Medical Director: We have selected, "Yes" to show how this is displayed in the table.
Notes: The notes are only visible by opening the "Add/Edit Staff" dialog box
Click on the "Save" button to add the staff member.
This is how the new staff will appear:
Adding a physician already in the database
Any physician who appears in the Physicians page main table can be added to the Key Staff table.
Click on the plus sign and the "Add/Edit Staff" dialog box will open.
Click on "Add a Physician" at the top of the "Add/Edit Staff" dialog box.
A new option will appear (next screenshot.)
Enter the full name or NPI of the physician you want to add.
Click on the Search button
The relevant search results will appear. (see next screenshot.)
Click on the Physician of your choice. (The physician will be highlighted as seen in the screenshot below.)
Click on "Use Selected Physician."
Only 20 physicians will be returned in the search. If your search doesn't return the physician you want, first find the physician in the main table on the Physicians page and copy the NPI. Then use the NPI in the search above.
The physician's details will be added to the "Add/Edit Staff" dialog box.
Click Save to add the physician to the Key Staff Table:

Editing/Removing Key Staff
In order to edit or remove any staff member in the Key Staff table, click anywhere on the row for that physician.
The Add/Edit Staff dialog box will open.
Making Edits to a Staff Member
Make any changes to any fields.
Click save to save your changes
One special edit - you can select the no radio button next to "Medical Director:" and the (DIR) designation will be removed from that staff entry.
Removing a Staff Member
Click on the "Remove" button.
The staff member will be removed from the Key Staff table.
Restoring a Medical Director
If a physician designated as a Medical Director in the Trella Health data has been removed from the Key Staff table, only a Solution admin will be able to restore that physician to the Key Staff table. (Although the physician could be added back.) See Administration Tools - Medical Directors.
